Happy Birthday to You!

I make Kiva microloans in honor of each patient birthday. It's just a little each month, but because it gets paid back and reloaned out, and each new birthday adds to the funds I am proud and happy to say that I have been able to fund thousands of dollars of loans over the past 7 years!  And this amount only grows with each year and each wonderful woman I work with, so by the time I'm ready to retire one day it'll be huge!

If you aren't familiar with Kiva you should check them out for yourself:  See the Kiva Website Here! You basically browse through all the women, men and groups that are requesting loans for a variety of things that will help them improve their quality of life and provide for their loved ones. You pick one (or more) and then put $25 towards helping them meet their goal. Once a whole bunch of people like you pitch in, the person or group gets their loan and begin working towards paying it back. Once they do, the money is put back in your account and you can reloan it again and again (or take it out). It is such a good feeling to know that in all my good fortune and abundance, I can help those less fortunate. It is also such a good feeling to know that I am honoring the wonderful women I work one-on-one with, by making the world a better place!
